Pros
Working with kids, helping them with issues, built lasting relationships with coworkers, unlimited overtime if you want it
Cons
No work/life balance, expected to pick up overtime, managers struggle with giving praise so workers feel underappreciated, some coworkers have no education (and will antagonize kids/fall asleep on the job), training is not consistent, therapists and managers are not fully aware of what happens on the units, so many people sleep with each other which leads to useless drama between staff, managers favor employees and clients, owners become extremely petty if you quit, have to work holidays, no consequences for the kids so they run the unit when not structured correctly
