There is a lot of scope to learn and implement new ideas and optimize your tasks and operations. The work atmosphere was pretty chilled out, and there was an opportunity to learn from some talented, smart people.

The company lacks vision, which is why the execution aspect is always a work-in-progress. There is very little cohesion in the departments of the organization. A lot of work that is being done in the company is heavily siloed. People are operating on their own with little regard for the central targets and the goal at hand. The top-down approach of the management - Everything stems from the belief of 1 individual who is in charge of the entire organization, and the collective opinion of the employees has little to do with planning. Motivation by fear seems to be the modus operandi - Do this and do this well, or you are out on the highway in no time. The lack of cognizance in some of the decisions that were taken have definitely shown the short-sightedness of the key decision makers. Lack of prudence in the early days have affected the overall functioning of the company.

Learning curve is steep. You get to do a lot of stuff that you wouldn't get to do as part of the team in bigger companies. Makes you go through the grind so that you are sharp enough to walk into a similar team anywhere later on.

The company's overall growth hasn't been that great over the last few years, which has made personal growth stagnated for a lot of the employees. After a while, the work keeps flowing in a loop, with not much new happening around you.
