Nice co-workers and remote and physical environment

Low Salary, sometime work in weekends

The environment is very relaxed — foosball, video games, and goofing around were tolerated and encouraged by the owners. I had quite a bit of fun while working here. There was a decent amount of variety in projects, and some were really fun to work on. The work was largely entry-level web development, fit for developers who need work experience. Management was very hands-off when it mattered — I worked at my own pace, without micromanagement, but felt reasonably well-supported when things went awry.

No room for growth whatsoever. Compensation was atrocious, even for Battle Creek. The owners just weren't willing (maybe weren't able) to pay competitive wages. Expect extremely low pay and the most bare-bones of health insurance. Estimates were often dramatically cut in fear of losing the project, leaving miniscule profit margins. I believe this is largely to blame for the company's stagnation. Poor communication with clients led to everyone being frustrated. On a few occasions, paychecks weren't available on payday due to various fabricated excuses (they felt bad about this, but that's unacceptable in my opinion).
