High degree of micromanagement, which felt very unusual for freelancer position. Compensation for mid designers is slightly above the minimum wage in Germany. Often it felt more like low-cost labor than an actual freelance collaboration. Lack of transparency during hiring and in the daily workflow. New responsibilities can appear without communication or discussion, which is difficult by freelance setup where agreement and clarity are essential.
