Pros

The company embraces remote work

Cons

The company has horrible management. They refuse to embrace an agile development process. A day in the life of a developer is being assigned a ticket and the assignee (Brian) dictates how long it should take to do the work without consulting the employee for any estimates. For example, every morning I was assigned a ticket, I was told it should take 4 hours to do, and if it wasn’t complete by lunch time, I’d get hounded about why it wasn’t done. The assumption was it’s simply because I’m not working rather than being given unrealistic estimates. Essentially I’m describing extreme micromanagement. The benefits are horrible, and the pay is not commensurate with market rates

Pros

Very laid back company. The other employees are smart and great to work with. Joel, Chuck, and John are really great bosses. Most projects are interesting and challenging. If you need to work from home part of the time because of kids or not feeling well, they are very flexible. I dont think anybody would care if you went in your PJs as long as you produced quality work. Great opportunities for advancement within if they see you are hard working and passionate about programming. We do fun company outings (picnics, Christmas party), and iMedia is very charitable. They help out a number of non-profits throughout the year. Recently, we all went to wal-mart and piled three shopping carts with clothes, toys, and games to help a family in need for the holidays. I really love working there, and they seem to be growing rapidly.

Cons

It would be nice if they did more phone app and/or game development
