Pros
There are numerous reasons to love working for ifm. Here are just a few... The corporate US headquarters in Malvern is a contemporary facility with modern amenities. Decent salary and the benefits are good. ifm prioritizes keeping the healthcare costs for both individual and families incredibly low. Upper management clearly cares about their employees as individual people and are there for you if you need them. Open door culture encourages anyone and everyone to speak directly to the CEO or other upper management; typical corporate sense of superiority does not exist at ifm, and the casual nature of management makes them approachable. Healthy living is strongly encouraged. Offices provide standing desks, employee gym facilities (free), tons of natural light and visibility to the outside from all over the building (corporate headquarters), charitable community activities and more. Kind, considerate and fun co-workers with an overall feeling of working with family. Working excessive hours or outside standard business hours is not expected of you on any regular basis. ifm is consistently growing and developing new ideas and concepts that inspire innovation and keep the company relevant.
Cons
Even though management is flexible with work/life balance when asked, the lack of formal policy is felt throughout the company. For a company as progressive as ifm, they have a long way to go to truly be as forward thinking with their employees as they are with their business model. The minimal sick time (5 days) and lack of work-from-home or family leave policies make it difficult for someone with a young family, or a family with two working parents, to work at ifm without sacrificing some things at home.
