Pros
- the discount on clothing if you like it -can claim anxiety and not have to go into office and work remote-if you are in w right person -can work remotely from another continent if you are in with right person -health insurance plan - when you are "in" with the right people, you can literally jump into a job from the retail stores to corporate jobs in accounting, technology, hr, recruiting, marketing. (All verifiable on linkedin) Literally no college degree, chocolatier to accounting, Nascar model to employee relations, many retail store employees direct to corporate technology mgr and hr mgr and business areas. They are an employer of these types of individuals who can stay for years, and pay taxes back into Canadian economy, and take massive maternity leaves. -there are pockets of decent people -good compensation and stock options for those coming in at certain levels and then you don't have to be hands on. You can be mediocre and not have lasted long at a tier1/2 or 3 company, work the system and the people that work for you behind the scenes, show up when necessary, verifiably use fake name/profile information on linked in while getting promoted through ranks to VP at lululemon. People say only in America, but really it can be "only in at lululemon" as well.
Cons
-if you have worked in any type of top corporate environment, have experience and basic knowledge you will really stand out and could potentially be targeted. -yes it is bizarre cult, which they are proud of, but really depends on your group. Personally, I experienced it as more Handmaid's Tale vibe, a pervasive specific dark element exists. A society with specific unspoken rules and a unified outward exterior with everything happening behind the scenes in subgroups. -There is a very large mass of their workforce that is making slightly over min wage, struggling for power in the stores creating a Lord of the Flies environment in their backbone retail base. and then similiar in Corporate where the very senior people just make bank, stock price goes up and they can rest and vest/be hands off, hire in their minions who worked for them at their former company- and then have their minions/henchmen that they hired in do all the heavy lifting and granular work for them. This creates all the grabs for power and toxicity throughout the massive population of lower rank and files in Corporate. -Google research and read both articles and avail online court docs- by plugging in lululemon- and make own decisions. -Unstable and chaotic operationally. No speaking or commentary or problem solving allowed whatsoever, -certain specific people will defame you, to specifically prevent you from gaining employment and create a false narrative after you leave. The highest damage is after you leave. There is a distinct and separate type of evil that exists in this organization that is different from any other place I have worked in over 20 years, and/ or what I have seen happen to other people or experienced myself. The individuals that lululemon attracts, just take viciousness, attacking others, lack of empathy, humanity and purposely "going after" people to the next level, beyond anything that I have witnessed in the companies that I have worked in. The amount of damage that this causes to one's life is profound and irreparable.
