Pros

The learning curve was fantastic: I received immediate exposure to senior executives from our various clients and and was highly accountable for end to end project work. Once I had sufficient experience with core consulting work I was immediately given management/leadership responsibilities.

Cons

There were some significant infrastructure gaps and the recruitment process was not very well managed. Also, the steep learning curve was too much of a stretch for some of the more junior staff.

Pros

You get to take on much more responsibilities than in other firms as an associate or analyst. The projects have plenty of depth and scope and it's up to you to make or break the project. The senior management has incredible connections across Canada, enabling the firm to punch above its weight in terms of project profiles. They also have a lot of industry knowledge and experience that they can bring to bear. It was a really rewarding experience- with a lot of flexibility afforded to the employees as long as the work was done.

Cons

It can be hard for those used to structure or for those looking for detailed coaching; the senior management is often out building the business. Some projects were too large for the junior staff or those without industry experience. .

Pros

The company offers employees a fast, effective and efficient way to become a high-quality management consultant within a short period of time (1-3 years). The company offers a high degree of autonomy and has extremely flexible work hours. This is great for people who enjoy working in small teams and enjoy an entrepreneurial work style.

Cons

The work is extremely challenging and there is a very steep learning curve. This can be seen as a con for most people, however some would see it as an opportunity if they're open to new challenges and continuous learning.
