Cons
Mostly associated with GovCon as an industry:
- As with any contracting role, experiences can vary a lot by contract/customer. There is always intrinsic risk in this industry that you will get an uncooperative or uninformed customer that makes a contract a pain to work on.
- Compensation is higher than government GS equivalents, but growth rates are similarly slow once you're in.
- Award winning security culture. It can be quite hard to get new tools that may be needed for your work
