Pros

- Leadership is down-to-earth and open to feedback. - Smart people with valuable industry experience, well-poised to be a differentiator in the space. - Strong focus on employee wellness and work-life balance. For example, the company has been very understanding during the pandemic, providing a sizable fitness/food/work-from-home reimbursement and emphasizing mental health. - Fun, lighthearted team!

Cons

Process/development can be scrappy and ever-changing, especially as the company grows (well that's true for most startups, but we're figuring it out).

Pros

By far the best start-up I've worked at. They really care about their employees, and are compassionate to each person's individual needs. During this past covid year, they adapted to work-from-home quite seamlessly. The benefits are pretty generous for a start-up, including a weekly lunch budget, good leave and PTO policies. People are very motivated to succeed, but also understand work-life balance. I never feel pressured to work on weekends or late, unless there is some emergency. Overall, the leadership is forward-thinking, optimistic, and encouraging.

Cons

No 401k matching (it is a small start-up, to be fair). High likelihood to pivot to something new mid-project. Not a con for everyone, but need to be able to work in a rapidly changing environment.

Pros

Growth-focused: Leadership encourages individual contributors to grow themselves in addition to contributing to areas of the company that they feel is important. Feedback oriented culture: I've felt that I've been able to give and receive feedback safely with my immediate team, and with things that I don't work on often. Fast-paced and agile: Problems that we've faced were dealt with quickly and efficiently. As an engineer this means I get to wear many hats and must stay flexible.

Cons

Not enough bottoms-up decision making or empowerment. A lot of raw information, not enough synthesized information. Not as much collaboration on eng / prod side
