Pros

There are some wonderful, hard-working employees there. Benefits like PTO are also excellent. Easy to work remotely and communicate with your team. Great work/life balance.

Cons

A non-exhaustive list of reasons not to come here: They recently laid off some excellent, high-performing employees. There have been some, in my opinion, unfortunate financial decisions made by the company. Very few managers at any level of management know how to effectively manage a team: there was barely any communication, organization or leadership demonstrated by the people in charge, or the people in charge of them. Very few opportunities for employees to voice concerns, and when concerns were voiced, they were often squashed & ignored to the point where some felt uncomfortable speaking up against senior management's favorites. No career path; as a previous review stated, the annual performance review was just a form which never had any follow up. No managers discussed their signoff with us, no merit raises existed, no career progression or promotion opportunity came of it. There were no standard salary bands, just percentage increases, so employees hired at less than market rate could never escape from being underpaid, even if their efforts were recognized with a promotion. Each individual team felt like an isolated sinking ship with no support from the rest of the company. There was far too much work expected of teams that never had enough people to complete it, and not enough work put into solid, detailed, long-term planning. The company used an agile approach to software development which was anything but agile. The agile team was micromanaged by senior managers, metrics were nonexistent, and suggestions that an agile coach, consultant or business analyst might help fix process issues/inefficiencies were ignored. Problems were debated to death, but actual concrete improvements were hardly ever enacted.

We apologize your experience with springbig was less than you expected. We have many ways to allow employees to air their concerns, sadly it doesn't seem you were able to utilize those. We care very much about our peoples thoughts, opinions and ideas. This makes up who we are as an organization. The performance appraisal process has a timeline from early November to the end of the year, to allow for training and approval prior to having a chat with each employee. Finally, we are absolutely focused on a variety of long term planning initiatives as well as leadership development. We appreciate your comments and time you spent providing this review.

Pros

Sadly, none at the moment

Cons

Leadership & Culture: Leadership lacks alignment, which creates confusion around priorities and expectations. Frequent shifts in strategy without clear communication. Decision-making often feels reactive rather than thoughtful or data-driven. Insecurity at the top trickles down and impacts morale. Culture struggles with transparency and trust. Communication & Structure: Cross-department communication is inconsistent and can be siloed. Feedback is not always welcomed, even when intended to help the business. Important information doesn’t flow smoothly, causing repeated misunderstandings. Teams are sometimes blamed for issues caused by unclear direction. Workload & Expectations: Workload can be heavy due to constant pivots and shifting SLAs. Goals and KPIs change frequently, which makes it difficult to measure success. Lack of standardization across processes leads to inefficiency. Limited support given for new initiatives despite high expectations. Career Growth & Support: Career development is inconsistent and not always based on performance. Leadership changes can stall or reverse career progress. Recognition largely depends on which department you sit in or who your direct leader is. Onboarding for internal roles and promotions lacks structure. General Environment: Internal morale can be low due to uncertainty and inconsistent communication. Changes happen quickly, often without sufficient explanation or resources. Teams are spread thin, making collaboration challenging. Employee concerns are acknowledged but not meaningfully addressed.
