Pros

It's a great place to start and grow a career in software consultancy. A lot of support, opportunities to take responsibility and grow. Awesome people, challenging projects, interesting domains, good benefits. It's a great place for junior and mid software engineers.

Cons

There is one common track if you want to grow to senior and beyond positions - you need to be a well rounded consultant, being able to not only solve technical problems but also lead a team, do project management and client communication. If you don't fit this mould, it will be difficult for you to progress. That said, u2i plans to address this issue.

Pros

Employee-owned, self-organised and very transparent company. Everybody feels like a part of it. Great perks: lunches and breakfasts everyday. Demanding projects and very unique way of working with clients. Progression model is totally not related with the role you play. You can be on the highest rank as a developer, team leader or scrum master - it's only up to you which path you choose for yours and company development.

Cons

Everything has pros and cons. For example self-organised company might look confusing for new hires. You can ask who is doing what? How to grow in this company? One need to identify with company values very strongly and I believe sometimes it might be a problem. Salaries might look impressive and sometimes can discourage people from applying to u2i.
