A sad place to work

Pros

Great people to work with below management level

Cons

A very low paying company. It was too low that it can't guarantee you a work-life balance. It was hardly enough to pay the bills. It's a sad place to work when you realize all the money you lose out on because of the greediness of the management. Tons of competitors are willing to pay you enough, so do not ever go here

Horrible work ethics

Pros

The only possible pros that I encountered while employed at this company was leaving it. There is nothing at all that should be considered a pro.

Cons

Horrible pay well below trade average. As a licensed electrician holding a red seal certificate I was paid $16.00 an hour. The average electricians wage rate in Ontario at the time was $28.00 per hour. When encountering asbestos like substances on a job site the project manager demanded that the work be completed without testing. No lock-out tag-out procedure was implemented and safety equipment such as class O rubber gloves, FR clothing or respirators were provided. I was forced to work on two different job sites on the same day in excess of 18 hours as the company had few workers. When it came down to submitting the time sheets the owner of the company disputed the hours of work and held my pay for 3 months. In addition the hours exceeding 44 were not paid at a overtime rate and a cheque was issued under the table which I did not agree with. Respect was not given to me as well as other workers apprentices and electricians. No matter how hard you worked you were always asked to work harder and do more. If you are an electrician I truly advise you to not work for this company.
