Pros
Up until now the environment has been relaxed and chill, but what were the Pros of the job don't apply anymore as of Jan 2023. See Cons.
Cons
20 employees have been laid off yesterday in an absolutely abysmal way. We were called into two meetings (one for 20 people - Group 1, and one for the rest of the company - Group 2... guess what that means). The layoffs were communicated by a pre-recorded message by our CEO. The message ended abruptly - there was no space for Q&A. The Zoom call was literally disconnected which left us feeling like someone just hung up the phone in our faces. They didn't even really confirm when the last day of work was and just expected us to go back to work after this call. We were also told that apparently management knew a round of layoffs was coming since Christmas, but they didn't tell us so that they wouldn't ruin the holidays. Fair enough - however they didn't even bother having an email ready for the laid off people. Everything is grim and quiet at work right now. Among the people who are staying, morale is extremely low and frankly I know many people are looking for other jobs, which doesn't bode well for their stock price. All in all abysmal, entitled, shocking and rude behavior.
