Pros

The money was okay but for the amount of hours you worked might of well worked min wage for a lot less stress

Cons

Everything…..place is falling to bits, Shell saw the light 7 years ago and decided to leave now it’s been run on a shoe string budget!

Pros

So tight with money that you learn lots of things not even relevant to your role which you can use to find a more progressive company who will pay more. Its close to Cheshire Oaks to escape over lunch.

Cons

Lots of Shell mangers clinging to their jobs, out of touch with modern management styles. The only department to get investment is sales - although its a group of bullying men who so unless your a sexist, chauvinist pig you probably won’t want to work for that department. They are continually looking to save money so job losses and outsourcing to India. Office is disgusting, canteen is disgusting and the site smells are disgusting. Not willing to investment money in IT, its beyond a joke. Culture isn’t very inclusive! To many Graduates and Apprentices who think they know it all, your all there for cheap labour and because you can be told what to do without any challenge back.

Pros

Great work life balance Excellent compensation compared to peers Good people within teams Nice working environment once you settle in Quite a senior group of employees with lots leaving so potential for rapid progression

Cons

Management can not make a decision to save their life Heads of department are far too out of touch with what is happening within departments Leadership team drags decisions out whilst hiring consultant after consultant Too many graduates/interns hired to meet HR policies doing nothing Too many employees overall, a decision isn't made, someone else is hired to help with the decision, the decision still isn't made and the process continues
