Toxic Workplace

Pros

- Free tea and coffee

Cons

I agree wholeheartedly with the other 3 reviews I read before I wrote this. I wish I could give 0 or negative stars. In my honest opinion, the problems all lie with the CEO: - Extremely egotistical - Very condescending - Makes up facts on the fly to support arguments - Ignores advice of developers who have many years industry experience - Fosters cult like "us-vs-them" atmosphere, often telling of other companies that "had it in" for Euclideon - Is expert manipulator employing gaslighting and other techniques - Often tells inappropriate stories putting down people's beliefs. - Once told all staff to deactivate LinkedIn and other accounts out of fear staff would be poached. - Would often jump to ridiculous conclusions. Sadly, working at Euclideon led to me having anxiety and other health issues directly as a result of how I was legally threatened on my last day. Perhaps I shouldn't have expected anything less. Writing this review itself brings back many bad memories of a time I wish I could forget. Beware this company at all costs.

Literally a cult

Pros

None. It looks like there's great opportunity on initial contact, but it's a lie.

Cons

Problems start at the top, and are utterly systemic. The place is operated like a religious cult, and I mean this in all seriousness. People play sycophantic games with management to gain advantage. There is a pervasive us-vs-them culture which typically leads to staff being removed, and when you think the problem was solved, a new villain is identified. There were around 8 senior programmers 2 years ago, and now there is just 1. Some were removed, most left voluntarily. The company doesn't respect experience, prefers hiring first-job juniors, with the stated goal that they can be indoctrinated with skills that deliberately resist industry norms, with no regard for their individual long-term career prospects, and it is this practice that I find the most insidious. Management is openly sexist, racist, religiously prejudice, and tremendously dishonest. This is a toxic workplace, especially for juniors.

Pros

Interesting technology. Some good products with active clients (at least at the time).

Cons

Favouritism to certain employees. Unrealistic expectations of projects and technology. CEO has no technical experience and yet runs projects. Employees aren't valued. Job titles don't really mean anything. CEO goes back on decisions or just flat out lies to employees. Terrible culture, don't question management or you'll be bullied or lose your job.
