Pros

None, the job is awful with little to no guidance and high expectations. Pay is garbage.

Cons

This is a predatory company that will hire anyone, pay them garbage and hope they sell their bad product to some sucker.

Pros

Cool loft office space, occasional free meals / beer, casual dress code, majority of coworkers are decent humans, COFFEE, plenty of positive reinforcement, I puffed on my G-pen at my desk all day and either no one cared or they had no clue what it was lol.

Cons

So there's some reviews on here that say Exact Data is a "scam"while I don't agree with that, it's definitely scummy. Their business model is basically this: Harass customers and small business owners to the point where they buy a useless mailing list just to get you to stop calling. It's 2015 and these people still think that this is the right way to do business. Wait... it is 2015, who in their right mind thinks that email blasts, postal addresses and phone numbers (landlines anyone?) are an effective form of marketing. I'm not saying I'm a marketing genius but speaking on behalf of everyone aged 18 - 25 THIS DOESN'T WORK! As an entry level sales executive you will deal with small business owners of a variety of sizes. Of the 30% that actually answer your calls about 10% will cuss you out over the phone and demand to be taken off the call list. Another 10% won't be the slightest bit interested in the product, and 5% don't even work at the company that their account is listed under. So that solid 5% of the HUNDREDS of calls that you make every few days is most likely a small business owner that has no clue what their doing in terms of marketing and feel like its about time they hopped on this whole internet thingymagig. Your job (my job) is then to jack the price up through the roof for an email list, and convince these people that it's worth hundreds, even thousands, of dollars more than it actually is. If you don't do this you make NO commission! Yes thats right your commission is based on how expensive you can price the lists. People will usually gasp and say that it's way too much, but hey you can always throw in free Facebook ads! Side note: anyone who has any experience with social media mgt. / advertising will LAUGH at Exact data's way of doing this. To sum up my experience with this company: if you're okay selling flip phones in a world of iPads work here. If you want to be a telemarketer for telemarketers work here. If you want to help scammers get info on who to scam work here. If you like making min wage with a bunch of sheep who think their in real life wolf of wall street, work here. If you consider yourself a forward thinking man of business in any sense, don't work here. If you're attracted to the thought of "no cold calls" prepare to be let down. If you realize that in this wonderful day and age, a salesperson is only as good as what they are selling, don't work here. All the good reviews on glassdoor were written by employees that got some sort of bonus pay. These people don't get how online reputations work.
