There were multiple aspects of this workplace that were challenging.
Excel was not a good fit for me due to the management style. All projects and activities are heavily micro-managed, while pressing matters or leads are often pushed to the side. If you are in sales, your weeks are planned out for you making it difficult actually get work done. Markets and territories are ambiguous, causing major rifts in the sales team. In addition, training is promised during the interview process but is not given.
Requirements of the job aside, the environment in the corporate office is overwhelmingly negative. The office is flooding with gossip and bad attitudes. Managers openly feud with one another on a regular basis, all but encouraging employees to do the same.
In addition, I never received a booking goal (despite asking several times when I would be given one,) but was told in my bonus review meeting that I did not meet my goal. It's tough to meet goals you don't know exist.
Overall, my experience with this company was not positive, though I did learn a good deal.
