Pros

They choose decent people to work for them, for the most part. Some miserable sods still make it through, true colors tend to show after you know them. They have had payroll issues for some time but it seems that they have rectified that. Possibly the company has changed hands in the last 2 years. Expanding this private company could lead room for growth for those seeking a career in the spa industry.

Cons

They have the basics down, running a spa of any size takes work. Willing to add extra hours is easy, the pay not so great. If you're fresh from massage school recommend but for serious professionals in the industry move on! CEO on down are just so far off from reality they can't even see how they have rebranded this business to fail long term. Transforming it from Chic and Real to Corporate and Money Grubbing. The HR department needs to actually be a department. 1 guy named Gary can't do it all. A sign of how cheap this company can be. Grinding its employees through the system until they break or burn out, yet claiming they are for health and well being? Meanwhile the CEO is off living in her multimillion dollar home pretending to be like everyone else when she makes an appearance when she feels like a Miami vacation. You want healthy employees pay them a decent salary and stop upping the full time benefits from 25 hours a week to 35 for new employees.

Hi. First, thank you for taking the time to comment about our company. Secondly we want to address some of what you have noted. We pride ourselves on our team of top quality healers, teachers and associates. We provide technical and holistic training and complimentary mind body classes because we believe our associates can continually develop knew skills and enhance their own lives inside and outside of exhale. Our Human Resources department is very well supported by our unit managers who are the front line HR liaisons with our associates. This organizational approach operates well for us. Our CEO is very engaged with the brand, our associates, and guests. She regularly participates in classes, and has been known to get so involved as to work the desk and in housekeeping when needed. Our benefits offerings are guided by the market and most recently by the passing of the Affordable Care Act. This Act as you may know defines what is considered full time which is at 30 hours. We do our best to follow all regulatory guidance and believe our benefits to be fair and equitable for all involved. Again, thank you for your comments. We can only learn and grow based on open, honest, and forthright dialogue.

Pros

Many amazing co-workers, 50% discount on retail (only on pay days), free classes

Cons

Did you notice how many of the replies from corporate starts with an apology for the late reply? That should be clue #1 as to what you will be dealing with. Corporate management has no idea how to run a business. The revolving door of spa directors is a testament to the chaos. As has been mentioned ad nauseam, they just throw people in with no training and it's sink or swim. Bad apple employees intimidate management; it's impossible to get fired at exhale so if you're unprofessional, toxic or a bully, this is the place for you. Exhale is extremely wasteful with how they spend money (e.g. by having way too many skin care lines, unnecessary "director" positions at corporate level pertaining to esthetics, and on and on), instead of paying better/offering insurance to more people. Inexperienced people are in charge at the national and local levels.

Pros

Incredible exercise classes free Get to work with wonderfully talented spa techs. Minimal to no micro managing allows you to practice your craft to the tee Free CEU credits towards your state registration renewal Lead therapist is a master at his craft and instruction They give full hour services with enough time to turn over the room and consult with guests When you interview you can negotiate a price Margeret Lora is an outstanding manager despite working for your typical greedy corporation. She is professional but also friendly and helpful. Exhale offer $25 half hour team massages

Cons

Although exhale charged top dollar they do not pay their therapist a sit fee. This is unethical to expect a professional to come on and end up paying to come to work. They done care about their professionals. I have seen wonderful therapists and estys leave because after several years of employment all exhale could muster up is a 3% raise - dispicable They are cheap and the products and linens and ripped and am embarrassment They let the place fall apart where the outlets under the table do not work so the therapist has to use outlets on the wall and trip in the dim lit room Their idea of staff appreciation day is for mts to give front desk employees free massages without getting paid and show zero appreciation for any of the spa techs They hire incompetent managers and provide little to no assistance for them to excel. Upper management t are more concerned about whether one line of a chit is filled out as opposed to the therapist bringing in repeat clientele. They will probably never care enough to read these reviews and have set up bs meetings pretending that they intend on changing for the better but just do this to placate their employees. They expect employees to sit in the spa even if they aren't booked and do not pay them a sit fee.
