Pros

- Location - Flexible working used to be good

Cons

- Half the management team are unable to adapt and lack any real leadership skills - Haphazard approach to everything - Awful training and development - Absolute favouritism for a chosen few while the rest aren't offered anything like the same amount of opportunity - They have an unfounded arrogance, despite revenue declining for the past few years and numerous people leaving (I believe it was 13 who left in 1 year with at least half of those being in a 2 month period) - They don't like anyone with an opinion, if you want to progress suck it up and be a complete 'Yes man' - They run on a culture of fear at times - The IIP accreditation is dubious as the individuals who spoke with the assessor (who is apparently friends with the CEO) were all specifically selected and were certainly not representative of the company as a whole

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you left expand with such a sad opinion. To correct a few factual comments. 4 people left expand at the end of 2017 (who were failing and did not achieve the required standards in terms of performance). We offer every support to see the team succeed, and their lack of capability was a huge disappointment. All promotions are made on the basis of performance and shared values. These are openly published. Our staff turnover was 10% in 2018. Our revenues grew by 21% in 2018. Investors in People. Any queries regarding the validity of this award can be sent to info@investorsinpeople.com. All employees completed an online IIP questionnaire to provide anonymous feedback at the start of the proccess. At random, IIP select team members for an interview representing full time/part time and various functions across the team. The report is sent for validation to their verification team in London prior to award. The assessor was not known to anyone in the organisation prior to the assessment. We wish you every success in your career.

Pros

one or two of the people there were nice. The others were central casting pointy shoe, cheap suit recruitment

Cons

as above - most colleagues were snakes. Quite a feat to assemble such a group of people. Old school IT recruitment of the worst kind. Putting fake ads up on the job boards, calling candidates to find out the names of hiring managers. Then call up those hiring manager to pitch in your candidates. Seriously - it's 2019!

We value glass door here at expand, it gives prospective candidates and people who are interested in our business the opportunity to peer through the window at the good and the not so good. We know that our clients value our services as they continue to return to us time after time to partner on their recruitment needs. That said like all business’s we sometimes get recruitment wrong and not all the people we hire to work for us make the grade. Sometimes the culture fit is not there. We will review our own selection process in light of your comments, thank you. Looks like this is one of our mistakes but we certainly don’t recruit in IT, use job boards or wear pointy shoes! If you would like to find out more about what it’s really like to work here drop us a line but only as long as you are comfortable wearing your nike air max and leave those pointy shoes at home.
