IT WAS A NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE

Pros

The pay is mediocre, considering that the company is located in Alabang. The facilities are new, considering the campus opened just recently.

Cons

They exploit their teachers so bad, it had burnt me out and made me lose my passion for teaching. The whole time I was working there, I did not have my own table, I shared a desk with 3-4 other teachers. Considering that it was an already established institution, I just always assumed that they could treat their teachers fair and well, but I soon came to realize that it would never be the case. My co-teachers and I also provide for own materials and equipment, from the HDMI cable to our whiteboard markers. We even pay for our own supply of drinking water, which is surprisingly overpriced. Since the campus was still relatively new, we were also tasked to do the work of the other departments (i.e. registrar's office) and we were never compensated for those additional tasks. Also, there were times when we received salary deductions out of nowhere. They also do not regularize people so if you apply there, do not expect a long-term stay. Honestly, I could live with all of the cons in working there except for the fact that the administration (and our head, to be honest) does not even remotely care about their employees. This institution does not like people who speak up and fight for their rights as workers. They thrive because their success is built upon the efforts of their exploited, overworked, and underpaid teachers and laborers.

Pros

I am teaching under the IAS-Biology. My department is accommodating in General. Our dept chair is easy to approach regarding concerns. Distinct people are also assigned to coordinate courses among the faculty members teaching the subjects.

Cons

1. Starts the class without faculty assigned to handle the courses. Poor communication between the departments and the one accepting students. 2. Lab class size. Comparing tuitions from other universities, the price is the same but the class load is too much. 40-45/faculty in a lab class. 3. Some coordinators are unprofessional. Why use an animal profile photo on an official email address? 4. Lecturers are relying too much on Youtube videos. Students are complaining that their instructors are giving exams but not really teaching. 5. Worksheets are too shallow for a university-level course. 6. Delayed salary for new hires. Expect around 2 months before it gets credited. 7. Department relies so much on social media on important communications rather than official emails. 8. Payslips are not automatically given with the salary.
