Pros

You can gain some great international trade experience here, if you get the opportunity to leave the office and audit. Very interesting international employees with different experiences, many you can learn a lot from.

Cons

Depends where you work - huge number of benefits for German employees, not much for other countries, huge disparity in number of holiday days for example. Policies issued from Bonn for worldwide offices with little to no interest in others. Key example, requiring a degree to apply - yes, all fine when Germany is free and pays grants, not OK in countries where only the rich can go to uni. But OK in Germany, so apply to rest of world with no thought. Work is repetitive and long termers take out their frustration by dragging out meetings complaining about anything and everything. Managers too tired and overworked to tackle this behaviour. Very traditional hierarchy-managers speak to managers and officers speak to officers. Raising problems is usually ignorable. Constant move towards beyond certification with little to no integration of supports, working off excel, very manual.

Pros

An international company that makes the world a better place, Flo-Cert is the independent certifier for Fairtrade products worldwide. The company has a bright future also in adjacent markets.

Cons

The first negative is obvious: salaries are low. The second is that there was a sense that "I am a good person so my idea is good." Not always the case.

Pros

They are deadly friendly, I mean misleadingly friendly.

Cons

When recruiting for vacancies, this organization goes after people who it gauges are desperate for a job and thus will accept half of the salary on the market for the same jobs. However, there is no such a desperate skilled person. Unskilled and unqualified person may take their offer, though. I believe the criteria they use when they select people for the interview is persons originating from poor countries, either from developing countries or from Eastern Europe.
