Pros

none. i don't know why i'm even still here. this is worse than jail. the owner is a conniving, controlling self absorbed paranoid sad man.

Cons

where can i start. terrible pay, terrible culture, terrible boss, scared colleagues, fear based culture, no coaching, last minute goal changes, forced to work weekends but the ceo tony isn't a morning person so he rocks up late and makes us work the full saturday where it could have been done in less time. he's cheap and says things that are racist and sexist, which is why we don't have an hr. he texts his employees and is completely weird and unprofessional.

I'm sorry that you feel this way. I'm thoroughly confused why someone would still opt to work for a company with the amount of personal grievances stated. I do take offense to the sexist and racist comments. Fotronic has one of the most diversified employee mix of any company I have seen. There are over 12 different languages natively spoken by employees and almost an equal ratio to men/woman. There are woman in management positions. There is no pay inequality whatsoever.

Don't waste your time

Pros

Not many. no dress code, break and lunch times not set. easy to get to by the T. some decent people work there

Cons

low pay, little training with high expectations. zero positive feedback. in fact, this company and it's managers thrive on placing blame on someone without finding out the circumstances first. the owner likes to micro manage everything even though he says he doesn't want to. no one works together, it's everyone for themselves. there are many things this company needs to fix but it will never happen unless there is new ownership or they hire a GM who can make decisions, but that will never happen. plenty of money is wasted on needless things, new lines that just overlap other lines. too much overhead. OT is spent for no reason because there are no set hours of operation. high overhead, over spending on OT will only hurt this company. it's not necessarily growing, they are just inept on how to run it efficiently.

From this position held, there was not an appropriate perspective to assess the business model, rationale of company strategy, overhead/expense figures and operations. We are a distributor. Distributors grow from adding brands (new lines). We want overlap/synergy between brands and purposely add overlapping brands. It is unfortunate that employment didn't work out for you. We have a large percentage of employees past the 10 year mark.

Ridiculous

Pros

swearing is encouraged, and no dress code

Cons

Overly complicated procedures, poor management, poorly kept building. Minimal training and excessive swearing from people with bad attitudes. Was told it would be 9 - 530 job, but thats not enough time to do everything you need to in a day to get orders out which is ridiculous. All the orders are on paper since the order website doesnt connect to the actual Sage computer software. Website does not show real time inventory, and noone notifies the customer when a part is back ordered; they just enter the order and pray it doesnt get cancelled when there's a long lead time. Customers are always calling in wondering where their orders are and yelling and shouting, Extremely little repeat business and for good reason. Awful customer service. Bi-weekly pay, which is NOT specified in the interview. I have worked here for a week and only just filled out my paperwork yesterday (how the frick was I working that whole time while not on payroll? I had to force the manager to give me the paperwork, even when she was told by the president to do it). Awful pay. Just bad business practices and even worse ethics. BBB should really investigate this place. DO NOT WORK HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A SLAVE AND THROWN INTO A NIGHTMARE.
