Pros

People are great Previously allowed for growth and valued loyalty Best for young talent

Cons

Firing tenured employees Lack of strategy and how to meet goals when employees are doing multiple people’s jobs Overworking is the expectation (never truly get a 40 hour week) Favoritism is the only job security here

Pros

Supportive and cooperative team members who are committed to their work despite operational challenges. The organization is actively pushing for digital transformation, which aligns with broader industry trends. A great opportunity for professionals seeking their first C-level or VP role to gain experience in executive leadership. Senior Executive Leadership is receptive to ideas regarding automation and process improvement.

Cons

The organization operates under a "lean" model, which impacts the ability to onboard talent and scale effectively to meet increasing workloads. IT is expected to pick up the slack for operational inefficiencies in other departments without the necessary resources to do so. The IT team is understaffed, making it difficult to execute Senior Executive Leadership’s vision while maintaining operational stability and cybersecurity readiness. Digital transformation efforts are not sufficiently supported by investments in personnel, leading to excessive reliance on IT and outsourcing. The Senior Executive Leadership Team consists of first-time executives (CEO, COO, CMO, CHRO/CPO, and CIO), which results in a steep learning curve for leadership decisions and execution. The organization’s culture is still evolving, and a mindset shift is needed to move away from a "sleepy" operational approach to a more proactive, efficient, and scalable model. Career advancement opportunities may be limited due to the organization’s current size and structure. All executives are required to be onsite five days a week, which may be a challenge for those accustomed to hybrid or remote work models. However, once the organization becomes more efficient, hybrid work may become an option.

Poor management team

Pros

Flexible PTO: One of the few positives about working at FCCU is the flexibility regarding paid time off. Employees are generally allowed to take time off as needed, which is a significant benefit for maintaining work-life balance. Entry-Level Opportunities: The pay is very low for most positions under management, which means hiring qualifications are often entry-level. This can be a good opportunity for recent graduates or those looking to gain experience in a corporate environment.

Cons

Pretend to Seek Input: Management often pretends to ask for employee feedback and input, but in reality, they are not genuinely interested in what we have to say. Meetings are held under the guise of collaboration, but our suggestions are frequently ignored. It feels like a waste of time to voice concerns when nothing changes. Micromanagement: The managers tend to micromanage every aspect of our work. Instead of empowering employees to take ownership of their tasks, they constantly hover and interfere, which stifles creativity and innovation. It's demoralizing to feel like you can’t make any decisions on your own. Unrealistic Expectations: The workload is excessive, with unrealistic deadlines that often lead to burnout. Management seems to be unaware of how much work is actually involved in our projects. When we raise concerns about the workload, we are met with indifference and told to "just get it done."
