Pros

Expenses paid quickly, pension is good, flexible work hours

Cons

This employment has been one elephant sized disappointment. Fjord is a chaotic, disorganized. The design studio is amateurishly run - the story is that Fjord is a happy caring family with an amazing culture than hasn’t been squashed by Accenture - but nothing could be further from the truth. There is a relentless focus on finding weaknesses and reasons not to trust and invest in people. It’s like there’s a bonus in place for someone to kick out a few people who aren’t in favour every six months, or at least to make them feel talent less and unworthy. You won’t get promoted unless you’re friends of the exclusive leadership circle - you will never be as great as they are. Don’t come here if you want to grown your career and be part of a thriving design family. Leadership doesn't hire anyone smarter than themselves and prefer to recruit from their friends so chances are you’ll be spared this experience anyway.

Good people, poor management

Pros

When I first started at Fjord London, the culture was great and still bits of that remains. The global network aspect of it is still pretty great, the rest of the offices maintain their culture and love their employees.

Cons

The management in the London studio is really bad, they see their employees as assets, they don't care about your career. In the past year the studio has grown a lot, but instead of helping their own people develop themselves within the company, they just keep getting contractors in to cover the senior roles. Besides that, there's a lot of favouritism and if you compare the salaries with other design consultancies, specially their size, it's not worth it.

Pros

You get paid well and it's fairly easy to have a good work life balance. The brand is still a good platform.

Cons

Accenture is turning the screw and fair play to them - the Fjord leadership lack business acumen, people are leaving in droves and how/what Fjord does is not what clients want any more.
