Pros

Worked with some of the most amazing and talented developers ever assembled. True rockstars. Made some friends, learned a ton.

Cons

I started in the very beginning. True start up style, sitting at plastic picnic tables, didn't even have a real office. Just a handful of us, executing the big ideas of the executives. It was fun, and exciting. We were told that we were in at the ground level, and if we helped build the company, we would be rewarded for ever. I poured more into this job than I ever had in my life. 60-70 hour weeks. Late night releases. Working from 7am-7pm... then logging back in at midnight and working until 4am. Running on empty, but doing it because I was part of something bigger. After a year of this, the CEO brought me into his office. Told me that all of my hard work and efforts had been recognized. Gave me 10,000 stock options, told me I was an extremely valuable part of the organization. I continued with the 110% effort. The executives trusted me. On a few occasions, they brought me in to answer technical questions for new investors, or give presentations. I was the go-to guy for everything. I was handling QA, vendor relations, communications between the other departments, wearing many hats proudly because I new that I was making a difference and was part of something. Need an extra guy to help out in the call center... I was there. Need somebody to move kiosks... I was there. Need someone to smooth something over with a vendor... I was there. Didn't matter what it was... I did it. Then one day, out of the blue... I was told I was being let go. No real reason. No forewarning. No severance package. Didn't even get 2 weeks. Just let go.

Pros

Donuts on Wednesday, bagels on Friday, happy hour occasionally on Fridays.

Cons

No 401k, no year end or holiday bonus, management issues, employment is at-will for both parties so don't be surprised if you get fired out of nowhere. The turnover is tremendous here and I've seen it happen to too many people - very suddenly. Don't get too comfortable and definitely don't "decorate" your work space, ha ha. Pay is ok, but forget about quality of life work hours. By the time you work the long hours you are making entry level pay. If you stand up for yourself and rebel against some of the ridiculousness, your days are numbered. Oh heck, who am I kidding, your days could be numbered no matter what you do. Don't p*ss off Marc, that will get you blacklisted immediately. I don't see much of a future for this industry. Not a finance company and doesn't report to credit bureaus. Lots of fraud loss with the demographic we target.

Pros

Fast growing company with a development team with a couple of rock-stars, a lot of super-stars and almost everyone is a good team player. Despite the last review crititicking the business, rent to own is perfecty legitimate. I even own shares because I think it will be successful one day.

Cons

A clique in development that shelters some under performers. Reason I wrote this review at all was the horrible management response that was written to the last review. There is no good pulse on the teams. There is one person who was described in the last review as a bully and he is the worst thing about the company. No matter what anyone says he is the main reason for people leaving the company. He stresses everyone out, yells when things aren't perfect (doesn't he know anything about IT), and then hi fives and hands out beers on Fridays and pretends he didn't insult us all week. Maybe we would get more done if he would stop surfing on his phone/laptop during meetings. I have personaly scene NSFW images on his computer during a meeting but I hear about a lot worse from guys that spend more time with him. He brags about spending 2 weeks in a row on vacation. If anyone else took that much time he would yell at the them. Last year he was gone for over a month. But I want him out of the office so everyone is more relaxed. What a joke.
