Pros

(1) People. A chance to meet genuine people and make new friends. Flyhomes hires talented, hardworking, friendly people. There will be an opportunity to connect with your colleagues and forge lasting relationships (2) Experience. The experience at Flyhomes is unique and invaluable. Get used to working by yourself, proving concepts and ideas on your own and getting buy in on just about everything you would like to accomplish. It's an individualistic culture that forces you to adopt new skills and learn hard lessons.

Cons

(1) Terrible work life balance. There are varying degrees to the work life balance depending on your role but prepare yourself for a less than desired split. Be prepared to work early mornings, long nights and always one full day of the weekend - you will have 1 day off a week. On your 1 day off, expect to receive requests and to do's on the internal messaging tool that the company uses (slack). As long as you have your phone you’ll be expected to work at some point. It’s very hard to unplug at this company. Schedules are irregular, when you've acclimated, your schedule will change. Enjoy your time off as being overworked is inevitable. Every team at Flyhomes is understaffed. (2) Toxic culture. You will witness unprofessional and toxic behavior at this company. The leadership and middle management team struggle mightily with interpersonal skills. Expect multiple people to act as your manager with no organizational structure or hierarchy, compensation will change with no forewarning (sometimes drastic), very minimal onboarding and training experience to understand your job duties, minimal support from leadership & management on work and initiatives you're driving for the company and little recognition for accomplishments. (3) Under compensation . Simply put, this company underpays its employees. Whether you're an agent working 7 days a week for 2 months straight helping your clients win a home and then earn a (small) fraction of the commission check with the company taking the majority OR you're a data scientist with a competitive salary but expected to produce 3x the work that you’re capable of - the company is hyper focused on reducing spend, especially on its people. (4) No career trajectory. If you're further along in your career and are hired to work a role that you see yourself in for years to come then you won't be phased by the company's approach to career development. There is no growth trajectory within the company, once you feel like you are ready for your next step, be prepared to take the step alone with little support from management. Instead, management will urge you to become an agent and help Flyhomes buy and sell homes as that's the only way the company makes money. (5) Company values. Flyhomes does not embody the company principles it preaches. Ask about these principles but don't expect them to reflect the company culture.

Pros

- Good work-from-home policy . - Despite the environment, there are some very nice and very smart people here. The product the company offers has potential. - Office location is good. - If you want to get into real estate you can join on here with little to no real estate experience. - If you don't consider the working hours the pay is pretty good for someone starting their real estate career or getting into something entry-level.

Cons

>> Work / Life Balance << Expect to sacrifice nearly all the time you'd normally put towards a relationship, kids, hobbies, health, etc. There is no work/life balance whatsoever. The company's regular work week is 6 days with a 7th highly encouraged. You'll be working roughly 70+ hours a week and taking calls from clients & managers as early as 5/6am and as late as midnight. You are expected to bend to a client's every whim and be available to them at all times. You will likely never get the opportunity to take a vacation. Despite the "unlimited PTO" many employees have never taken any significant time off. Sick days are not a thing either. Unless you are physically incapable of working you will still be expected to keep up with everything from your bed at home . Job postings mention you may have to work "a few nights and weekends". This is a massive understatement. You WILL be working late every night & every weekend. Lack of work/life balance is a massive issue at this company and, as you'd expect, it creates high turnover. >> Management << Management is very heavy handed and even abusive at times. Employees would be publicly chastised in front of their teams & the whole company for mistakes big & small. Conflicts with management would sometimes devolve to name-calling and a few times even went as low as insulting an employee's intelligence in front of peers. Employees sometimes break down, crying after meetings or hiding in shame after being yelled at across the office. People comply with management's orders out of fear. >> Constant job duty changes << Management will make decisions about your career with little to no input from you. They will hold close-door meetings where your job descriptions, duties, and responsibilities are entirely changed. Most of these changes will involve assigning you extra responsibilities WITHOUT any adjustment in compensation. >> Confusing & sporadic system changes << Business processes are constantly being changed by management without any input from the teams that use them. This creates a constant state of confusion. Nobody knew what was really going on because things changed so often, and employees were not trained on any of it. >> Stressed teams & coworkers << With everyone so overworked help is very hard to come by. Asking for help too often will earn you negative marks among your colleagues for being a burden on their time. To avoid punishments employees will throw their peers under the bus with little hesitation. People gossip and play politics. Rarely do peers or management ever acknowledge a job well done. Some teams are held in much higher regard than others. Those not on the "favorite" teams will feel like nothing more than a business expense necessary to ensure the success of said favorite teams. >> Questionable practices << In the nature of "winning" Management and high-ranking team members will sometimes "encourage" employees to engage in unethical practices. Lying to other realtors, lenders, and even their own clients is a common theme. Occasionally people were even asked to lie to property owners so business could be conducted at their homes without consent. You essentially need to say whatever it takes to "win" a deal for the company. It was alarming how few people raised concerns about this.

Pros

A lot of smart people who are stuck in a position that were sold to them with a great promise but realistically the position is just terrible. A lot of employees whom are also stuck there because they provide work visas.

Cons

Home selling is just a sales number to their employees and there is total disregard to if their clients are ready to commit to a home sale or have a deep understanding of their contract. Clients are rushed to getting into a contract or pressured at the spur of the moment to sign the contract without knowing what they have signed or waived the right to. A lot of non compliance methods used to “save” the company or contracts. Day to day is packed with issues to be escalated on and clients who have buyers remorse. Zero follow up with the clients from the original “sales person”. Management has no idea what to do but are extremely good with using words to coax employees that everything is fine and calm the situation without an providing an actual solution. They also strongly believe in money can buy and solve all issues motto. Work life balance is practically zero as they expect you to work 12 hour days or more every day. Very toxic work environment. Employees and departments are constantly fighting with each other or throwing each other under the bus.
