Pros

I had the opportunity to work with many people who are well experienced and are willing to be transparent about their line of business. I will always be grateful at the fact that I learned more in the course of three months than I would ever learn in the course of four years at Engineering School. At the time that I was at Fundation, the team that I was a part of truly believed in each person taking the initiative and making a difference, at least until upper management decided it was best for them to tear us apart in favor of a more traditional subservient structure.

Cons

It was extremely discouraging to realize that special privileges were provided to those with personal relations to those in upper management in tech. This became an issue when it started impacting my day-to-day process and wasted my time. The beneficiary of this special treatment was provided more access than some of the upper managers to the code management system, including their own direct report, which resulted in certain processes changing without communication with the entire team. This causes unprecedented blockers, some of which lasted the course of weeks. The Product Team had the tendency to shift responsibility for faulty deliverables to the tech teams, who are responsible for delivering components towards the end of the deliverable cycle, rather than grouping the entire team and ironing out the process. It really serves no value upon realizing that those who continuously fail to honor commitments are always protected by upper management, probably because they all prefer to let matters fly. Above all, if you are someone who values work ethics, you can find better opportunities elsewhere.

Pros

Management doesn’t know what there doing so they tend to leave you alone.

Cons

They force employees in December to write only good reviews!!! turn around is horrible, the company is not profitable AT ALL and they are still trying to develop everyday policies that they should have had years ago. Whoever has the best idea for the day wins, or if you befriend management. Management is horrible..review and take notice on LinkedIn most of management are professional job hoppers.

Thank you for your feedback. We were saddened to hear that you are unhappy working at Fundation. If you are still an active employee, I suggest that you discuss your concerns with human resources who shares employee concerns with executive management as they come up. There are a few claims that you have made in your statement that are not accurate. First, turnover of management is low. Most of our managers have been with Fundation for several years, so this perspective may be based on a particular department or team and not senior management. This is public information: https://fundation.com/about/ lists our management team and you can look at their Fundation tenure on LinkedIn. As you know, we also invest heavily in leadership training for all managers. Second, we have a highly engaged culture and high employee satisfaction as measured by our formal and informal surveys. Third, we never forced employees to write reviews. Late last year, we focused on developing our social media presence to support recruiting efforts. We asked all of our employees to give us reviews online to help us develop our presence on Glassdoor knowing these reviews were going to be anonymous so employees would be free to write what they please.

Pros

There is something about this company that makes it unique. It seems to hire not just for quality but for decency. From the CEO to mid level management to developers and business analysts there are just nice people everywhere. The company is growing rapidly and very successful, yet despite the sometimes desperate need to add people, they are very careful who they hire. There is a very horizontal structure that makes everyone, including the CEO approachable by anyone.

Cons

There is sometimes a bit of managed chaos created by the rapidly increasing amount of work and deliverable and the horizontal structure. There are many efforts to create structures in place to deal with this growth, but we are still often learning from mistakes.
