Pros

There are a lot of reason that make Fusion Optix the next "Best Place to Work": 1. The CEO listens to company/employee needs and responds 2. Opportunity is available for those who have the drive and ambition to take it 3. Work force is results and performance driven (you get out what you put in) 4. Culture is and needs to be a team effort mentality along with individual care towards company vision/goal 5. All Benefits, bonuses and raises are available to all 6. Most, if not all, employees actually love what they do and see the results from their efforts 7. The company/people are Inventive, creative and innovative - Always sharing new ideas 8. The company is in the middle of growth and expansion - Opportunity is HOT 9. Birthday recognition/pizza/lunch meetings/company events 10. BBQs during any good (warm) weather 11. Dinner and drinks are provided for the team during a late night push The list can literally continue. My personal experience with Fusion Optix has been challenging but positive. I see the results from my efforts and I see and feel the results from the teams efforts. It becomes obvious when someone is slacking (and who it is) because it really is a team (company) effort to grow Fusion Optix. I love the work I do, I respect and enjoy the people I work with and I want to see the success of the employee and of the company take off.

Cons

Although Fusion Optix is becoming employee's Best Place to Work, it is not for everyone: 1. Having a start-up mentality is key for everyday success 2. Time is of the essence - results and performance are absolute for growing the company (Not everyone wants to put in this type of effort) 3. Like those who wants to make it in any industry, it is what you do outside of a 9 to 5 hour "job" that gets you there 4. The company is in the middle of growth and expansion - Being a "chameleon" helps (Able to change and adapt to a growing company and a changing industry is key) 5. It's a work hard and work smart mentality... sorry if that scares you. Opportunity is the same for everyone who chooses or is chosen to work for and with Fusion Optix. It is up to each individual to make the most of it. What you put in really is what you get out of it. We work hard but we play even harder. Fusion Optix is a great place to work but like I said, it is not for everyone. This is a company that is employee driven.

Thank you for your positivity during a difficult period. I don't think you were the exception to the norm but your experience and perspective is obviously a bit more positive than others. I'm sure that is testament to the way you approached your time with us and that you have gone on to bigger and better things.

Pros

Experience, exposure to possibly different technologies, etc. There are many good people there at Fusion Optix! I did make a lot of good friends there, and some of them did go on to BIG jobs- and those that did- deserve it (I knew them all!)

Cons

Controlllllling...... major-league!! The CEO has his little pets and snitches do his McCarthy-ism's......... Only thing there is, they are all little Indians stepping on each other to become a Chief!! Sad......... really sad. The CEO would jet-set around with his little Marketing Pet, going here , there, everywhere "on the company".... only thing was- everyone knew exactly what was going on- and again- how motivated are you when the head of the company is making himself look like a Donkey- although he would like to think it was a King he was modeling himself after!!

I'm sorry you were in the company during these bad times. It was honestly no fun for anyone. It was often a thankless task all round. Since this review was written in 2015 I would just refer you to replies to other more recent posts. We have tried to learn and mature in every area. We can't change the past but we have tried to learn from it and not repeat the same mistakes, if we have any control over that choice.

Pros

Young, eager, dedicated employees willing to work long hours on project based business. Inexperienced employees willing to work long and hard hours, for low pay, poor benefits, for years, without seeing results of all their efforts.

Cons

Inexperienced management. Young employees made up vast majority of company (<5 years out of university), so both technical & strategic decisions were "blind leading the blind." CEO often made emotion decisions both in personal relationships with employees, and with investors/board. Sending marketing & opps managers to a finance course for one semester, does not make them an expert in how to run a company's finances. Having employees finance company expenses on their personal credit cards is not the right way to go about things. Employees would often spend an entire day before potential investor or board meetings to re-arrange and organize. Employees thought that was so that it would look like something had changed and progress was being made since last visit. In reality, it was just moving stuff from one spot to another. This company has been around for over 10 years, they've had a lot of investment, and they still are a job shop who hasn't figured out who they want to be when they grow up, who their market is, who their customers are, and what they need to do to grow the business. There's so much potential in the IP of this company in their market, the execution lack of strategy & leadership from the top and management of the organization has completely squandered the market opportunity. The fish stinks from the head down.
