Pros

On site nurse, gym (outdated), cafeteria (expensive and not fresh), dry cleaner. If you have the right manager, you can learn a lot.

Cons

Extremely stressful environment, politics, rampant nepotism. There have been layoffs despite what some may believe. It's a work until you drop atmosphere which will either make you or break you. Most likely the latter. Turnover is very high

Pros

RRSP matching, Flex hours, Gym, subsidized cafeteria (amazing food), Dry Cleaning services, the employees and lower to middle management are some of the kindest most thoughtful people you will ever meet. HR actually cares about the well being of employees and listens objectively, it is a great place to learn what it means to work in a corporate environment. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere!!

Cons

Staff is overworked and extremely underpaid, it is shocking how little a manager can make. If you do well at your job, you are prevented from moving forward, getting a promotion can mean little to no raise, bonuses and raises are inconsistent, there are periodical layoffs in the company.

Leadership in disarray

Pros

The company itself has a really solid position in the industry.

Cons

Mid-Senior level management was in complete disarray the last few months of my employment. We were told no layoffs would happen as a result of a business acquisition, then several waves of lay offs happened with no warning or plan in place for after. I had to spend a week doing internal damage control as other departments like Sales were not notified at all of these substantial changes and it seriously affected ongoing business with our external customers. I had 4 different supervisors in my last month there with no clear indication that there was a method to any of the madness. Internal conversations made it clear that at least one of the major layoffs was due to personal conflict and not as a business decision. Performance could not be pointed to as an issue so the layoff was timed around the acquisition instead. After the first round of layoffs I fully believe it was the Director's strategy to intimidate other employees into stress-induced performance improvements. The air shifted from calm and controlled to genuinely toxic the last few months. I worked there for 2 years and the last 3 months were by far the most hectic and uncomfortable I have ever seen or been in a professional environment. Morale was not a concern of management, and even though goals were hit and performance was confirmed to be satisfactory you were still made to feel like you were not doing enough and that no one's job was safe. I received a raise and was let go in the same month. For a company named Future Electronics they did not seem to think very far ahead with some of their decisions.
