The owner/CEO is like a god, or at the very least, Caesar. His arrival in the office is heralded with much ado; if he shines favor upon you, you've got it made in the shade; should he not take a shine to you, nothing you do will ever be good enough. Management definitely has their favorites - these people get away with everything from being rude and condescending (even to customers) to coming into work and leaving pretty much as they please. I had to teach management my job, then they fired me. Very low morale, even with "the favorites". Everyone hates working here.

Morale (what's left of it) is in the toilet. The owner is probably one of the most egotistical and narcissistic people you could ever work for. The "lifers" here have taken on a Stockholm Syndrome-like apathy for everything's that is wrong with the place that is nothing short of soul crushing. Accomplishments by employees that are made known to the CEO are celebrated with the same enthusiasm traditionally reserved for finding a coupon in the newspaper for $0.25 off a bar of soap. Conversely, mistakes, no matter how minor, will overshadow your entire tenure here.
