Pros

Team is full of incredible people who work hard within the confines of their abilities. Customer service manager and director are kind and compassionate leaders. Department execs do their best to keep everyone in good spirits, despite the climate and culture surrounding them.

Cons

-NOT A STARTUP. This is a young company led up by those who conduct business in a very “traditional” manner. (Ie: micromanagement, hawkish c-level, no distinct culture) - CEO is acting HR. -Nepotism: family of CEO holds 2 of 5 executive positions. -Low hourly wages for the amount of work saddled onto the Customer Support Role. -Lack of distinct culture. -Zero upward mobility within the company. -Absence of accountability from the top down. -Departments are siloed. No collaboration. - No internal support for employees. who deserve way more for from leadership. -Promotions only offered to those who will bend at the knee and fall in line. - No core values, KPIs, Standards of Performance, or team building of any kind. -Complicit and complacent upper management.

Not surprised at all that this person left a negative review full of false statements. We trust our employees to work from home and do their work diligently and on time. After about a year of poor performance reviews, multiple attempts to correct the bad behavior and several warnings for violating company guidelines this person was terminated. First, on a weekly basis you were not available during the hours you were scheduled to be working. Your teammates reported back to us on a weekly basis that you would disappear for 30-60 minutes while you were being paid to work (not including scheduled breaks). One of your main responsibilities was customer service via online chat. You had the lowest customer feedback score on the team every month while completing the lowest number of chats. You mention that we have no KPIs. In fact we shared our KPIs with you and the team regularly and your numbers were the lowest on the team. We did our best to train you and correct your bad habits but you were not coachable and unemployable. Good luck finding another job. Feel free to list us as a reference.

Pros

Fantastic team of people between entry level coworkers, supervisors, and managers.

Cons

The CEO, Shaun Savage, and his numerous family members he placed in high level positions out of nepotism are a real problem. Shaun micromanages (because somehow he doesn't have anything better to do with his time), blindsiding unsuspecting workers with disciplinary emails or DMs. He insists on running his startup like a corporate retailer for some reason and refuses to acknowledge how over encumbered his teams are, and thus burnout runs rampant and the turnover rate is very high. The company's phone number was not posted online for a while for a reason. This is a coast-to-coast operation with a customer service team that consists of fewer than 10 people at any given time, management included. Shaun read one article one day about the importance of phone calls in business and he decided to open up the gates of hell and give out the phone number, overwhelming the team and causing several fantastic employees to quit within just a few weeks. Finally, everything is disorganized. There is no training structure. No resources of information to help respond to the questions and demands of customers or drivers. Worst of all there are no performance standards. You could get fired without any formal warnings or meetings, nobody supporting you to help you do better (with the exception of the previously-mentioned great managers and supervisors, but they are all far too swamped to be able to help you the way both of you wish they could). Oh, and the pay is pretty crap. $15.50/hour for San Diego employees, where rent on a 2-bedroom being at $1,900 a month is common, and $13 for remote employees elsewhere in the US.
