Burning Ship
Pros
The best thing about GoverNet was the front-line employees, hands down. Very friendly and helpful.
Cons
GoverNet started out as a good company to work for, but then the surface was cracked and the ugliness came through. - Project Managers regularly over promise to clients and do not provide clear communication to development. - Support is overlooked and severely understaffed. - Code is abstract and complicated and the development team for the core product was 1 person. - Primary software was being sold before it was ready (still wasn't really sellable in my opinion when I left) - Client demands drove development more then real business needs - Company is top heavy with management - Wages were stagnant, performance reviews were non-existant - Management expects salaried employees to basically punch a timeclock.
