Pros

You will get exposed to a lot of different industries and pick up some really useful skills. There are lots of knowledgable people working here that know a lot about Finance and Accounting. Sadly, they will be too overburdened with far more accounts than they should have at once, to really have the time to share knowledge with anyone. If you are an accounting/finance major with very little experience in the industry and need to get some, take a job here, learn what you can.... and go find a better one. That's all this place is good for anymore.

Cons

I have worked for this company for some time now and have gradually seen the change from back when there were less than 10 of us. To the current day, when there are about 25-30 people instead. And it has not been for the better. Which is sad, because I once truly loved being here. For starters, let's talk management. The CEO has always been great to me... but since he is in New York, he is completely ignorant as to what happens here in Orlando. Which brings us to the biggest issue with this place now: the COO who is in charge in Orlando is a very deceitful, manipulative and egotistical person. He hides his true nature behind a facade of smiles and empty promises. He blatantly plays favorites, and will tell you that "out of sight, is out of mind." Inferring that if you are a remote worker and not in the office there brown nosing with him, you shouldn't expect any kind of career opportunities. On top of this, he will lie directly to your face. While promoting that he believes in honesty and fairness. It is truly shameful. Also, this is not a remote position anymore. Contrary to how this company advertises it. When I started here it was fully remote for all of us. With occasional meetings that were optional to attend in person and were genuinely fun. A fact that he promised us long timers would not change. ......... that is not the case anymore. And after fully staffing his department to the size he wanted, he made it mandatory that people start coming in 2 days a week. And he has made it clear that he intends to make more days required over time. The meetings have gone from fun and quick catch up sessions, to 45 minutes of the supposed COO feeding his own ego. While he gives generic advice and non-specific feedback. It really feels like bullying at this point. His excuse for his actions? " He is raising the standards." Yet all of the broken accounts he has for our clients and all of the massive security risks to them as well still exist. It's nothing short of a miracle that there hasn't been some kind of leak or fraudulent activity due to this yet. The pay is atrocious. I am basically paid about as much as a first-year accountant even with 10+ years of experience. Parking is not covered either, as the company is just too cheap to put up the money for it. We don't even have an actual office. They rent a room in one of the office buildings downtown. It's a better one than the one we had before that looked like a factory from the inside... but that isn't saying much. The room we have is so tiny that not even half the staff can fit into it comfortably. There are some good people here. But some people in management are just arrogant and unreasonable. With the most wooden, non-social personalities that you can imagine. Forget asking them for guidance too. They are so overburdened, that they will refer back to you when you have questions. You're on your own here. It's that simple. And depending who you get paired up with, you could have nice, peaceful and ordered weeks. Or random and chaotic ones filled with petty and childish arguments. Lastly and best of all is the fact that now that they know people are disgruntled, they are about to force people to sign a new agreement letter with a non-disparagement agreement in it. In an effort to protect their own reputations. Truly disgusting. This company should be ashamed of themselves. If it wasn't because I had a family, I would have already resigned. Nonetheless, I am currently looking for employment elsewhere. A person can only take so much.

Pros

You MAY get to work from home several days a week. Depending on management's mood. You get exposed to a lot of different areas of accountancy. ......... that's it.

Cons

I put up a nice, long, and detailed review before. Which the CEO responded to, and then the company had deleted from the site. And I'm here to repost up the gist of it (which I will happily do over and over). In short: everything in the long review below is true. And while that CFO was fired shortly afterward, this place was still a joke afterward. Expect to work long hours here for low pay. While management will treat the smallest mistake like it is catastrophic. Even if you do everything right if the client complains at all expect to be chastised and punished. Because their attitude is to put the clients first and the employees last. Expect to deal with management who will tell you it is a remote role, but ask you to come into the office for the most ridiculous things with no notice at all. Even if you live 2 hours away, they won't care. They just do not know anything about running a remote office. The work itself can vary from basic accountancy to controller level stuff. But don't expect to get much guidance here. Management can take days to get back to you. And many times, new tasks will be assigned with little to no directions given. They just expect you to fumble through and figure it out yourself. If you point out how ineffective and error-prone this is, they will hide behind the company culture being one of "independence." Nonsense. Training wise: there is none. Other than occasionally during the bi-weekly meetings. When they rush thru covering some random topic with little to no materials or practice items prepared for the staff. Job security-wise: there is none. They will fire even long time people who are on no kind of corrective action at the drop of a dime. Their excuse will be to say that you aren't fitting in with the company culture. Office wise: what office? They rent a room in a building downtown where you will be elbow to elbow with other people. If that room is full you get to work sitting in the lobby. On a single screen laptop. Just absurd. TLDR: this is a cheap, low paying company with little to no advancement opportunities, blatant nepotism runs rampant, and the CEO is completely out of touch due to being in another state. Pass on it or you'll find out I'm not exaggerating the hard way.

Pros

The company is fully remote with a footprint office in Orlando and NYC. Decent medical benefits.

Cons

Lack of structure, constant client re-assignments, favoritism between upper management and middle management. No established training programs per each job description.
