Pros

I can't say enough good things about working at GridBeyond. The team is amazing, and my boss is truly exceptional. The company culture fosters independence and trust, with no micromanagement. You are encouraged to work autonomously, and if you have an idea or project you want to pursue, they genuinely listen and provide support. Working from home is a dream here—no pressure to turn on your camera or conform to unnecessary rules. The flexibility and understanding make it easy to focus on doing your best work. We do have ambitious KPIs for each person and their responsibilities, but when you have a great team, that’s something you don’t mind working hard on. We’re also fantastic at helping each other, so we always exceed expectations together. What’s even better is that no one is expected to work after working hours. The balance between hard work and respecting personal time is a rare find, and it’s one of the many reasons I love working here. Having had terrible bosses in the past, I feel incredibly lucky to have found this team. It's a supportive and empowering environment where everyone is treated with respect and professionalism. If you're looking for a workplace where your contributions are valued and you can truly thrive, GridBeyond is the place to be! I can only speak about my team in Marketing and the colleagues I encounter in the UK, but my experience has been nothing short of fantastic.

Cons

No micromanagement means that you really need to manage yourself. You might have a hard time if you need a lot of guidance and help every step of the way. That said, I don’t see this as a con, but rather a basic work ethic - especially if you’ve been in your career long enough. My team respects your work method, which means that you need to have a method. Being organised and proactive will help you succeed here. One other thing I would highlight is the need to improve communication with the finance team. They can be very hard to reach, and sometimes they don't reply at all. This has led to situations where bills for clients and vendors are paid late, which could reflect poorly on the company. Ensuring timely responses and payments would go a long way in maintaining our professional reputation.

Left Dublin Software Team After 2 Months in Q2 2022

Unfortunately I feel an obligation to industry colleagues to share my experience. I have worked for 20 years in the Software Industry and never left a permanent position before a tenure of 2 years. I decided to leave Grid Beyond after 2 months due to the number of red flags I noted were not going to change. Feel free to contact me on LinkedIn for more info but unfortunately I would consider the senior mgmt. in Grid Beyond very immature and inexperienced in proper software delivery.
