Pros

- overtime pay for staff - health and dental insurance paid for - pre-COVID - free busy season lunches and dinners in office

Cons

- unfair work allocation - the better staff have more projects/clients than others. - management is disorganized and most will micro manage. - busy season hours are comparable to Big 4, if not more. - stickler for chargeable hours - management will check hours weekly, some daily, even during non-busy season. - a lot of menial work for international tax - other firms usually have separate teams that handle these type of projects. - tiny retirement benefits - I received approx. $2,500 in benefits for my 3+ years. - confusing firm culture - you don't get the close family culture of a small firm and you don't get the name recognition for resumes of a national firm or Big 4. Fun Fact - annual promotions are "effective" July 1st, BUT if you plan to leave the firm within 2 weeks after July 1st, they will RESCIND your promotion that you've already earned and worked for. Typical company that doesn't care about their employees.

Pros

Perks: free busy season lunch and dinner Lots of team building events Clean and nice office Overtime salary

Cons

1. Double standard: efficient employees get more work and are expected to manage hard projects well. However, when it comes to raise and promotion, all get same promotion and raise 2. Some managers don’t care if employees have the learning opportunities. All they care is their projects. 3. Lots of work 4. Some managers like employees to prioritize their project first, but they don’t review the work until last minutes.

Pros

Beginning pay is fair, even though less than ideal. Beautiful offices in a great location. Teaches object lesson in importance and value of due diligence in employment decisions.

Cons

Disconnect of management from staff. Limited growth opportunities unless you are of the privileged and annointed few who have been blessed by partners and managers. Mindset of management toward staff is exclusively narrow in their focus. Opportunities for growth and development limited unless you belong to the selected group so appointed by partners and managers. Managers continuously look for opportunities to accuse staff for their sub standard knowledge and skills instead of accepting accountability. Hard work and effort goes unrecognized. Management is blatantly condescending and patronizing, subjective in their assessments with narrow mindsets.
