Pros

Competitive Salary, Nice office & location.

Cons

This place is a total train wreck. The hours are dreadful and exhausting mentally & physically. The owner is obsessed with perfection, yet lacks the ability to send communications without multiple typos and clear objectives. At best, the owner is personable, but also passive and uncompassionate about employees well being. All that matters is arriving to work at 6:30am and leaving at 6:30pm without breaks, following evening team meetings to discuss absolutely nothing. Projects rarely remain within scope and last much longer than necessary due to repetitive processes and reporting on cultural adoptions that have no real bearings among the staff. Project manager is disliked by all due to belittling affirmations and pure flakiness. This is not a PMO. It is a lackluster call center with much to be desired. if you have any personal morals or values, leave them at the front door along with your health, family and career aspirations and you will thrive in this organization.

Pros

Possibly the only pro would be that you can loosely put "project management" on your resume.

Cons

Please do not be fooled by the manipulative owner. She provides a false picture of caring about her employees and their well being but truly only cares about her bottom line. She will make you sacrifice family for the sake of the project and "leadership". You only get 5 paid holidays and if you wish to take PTO around any of those days she only allows 1-2 people to do so at a time and merely cites that because it is a small business that is the sacrifice you have to make. There were times employees had family sickness or surgeries and they were denied time off to be present in those times of need. You are expected to be at work at 6:30am and stay until "the project work is completed" which she could deem anything as still work needing to be done. One employee had to stay from 6:30am until after 5pm because a fax "might come through" for a project even though all work was completed by 4 when the project had ended for the day. Another was forced to stay from 6:30am to around 9pm to log faxes received because the owner refuses to let them sit overnight. Please be warned if you have family or especially children--Do NOT work here. The owner expects everyone to work their lives away like she does and she will blatantly lie and omit the truth until after you accept a position then completely abuse you as an employee. And the best part was after a 10 hour work day from 6:30am until 4:30 we got to have our weekly meetings at 5:00pm to discuss cultural topics such as "how do we think critically" which were poorly attempted to tie back to project management. We literally had to read an article about euthanasia and discuss how we felt about---at this mandatory 5pm staff meeting and all of this just to make the point that critical thinking is an important project management skill..... This is NOT a PMO. It is a call center. The projects are merely long lists of providers to call and get them to send back paperwork of some sort. You will be a call center rep. Even project managers make calls all day because the business is too small and has too much turnover. True project managers and project leads need to keep looking for another place to work!

Pros

Nice office, that's about it. Good location. Was able to walk on my lunch which was nice. See cons for rest.

Cons

Everything else. Toxic work place and boss expects you to work well beyond 40 hours. No work life balance. Very frustrating setup and hard to get anywhere. Boss is very much a micromanager.
