      Chaotic, disorganised and poisoning its own well with politics

      Pros

      HTC gives you room to grow, as no-one takes real accountability for anything, you can make many workstreams as your own and build on your skill set through on-the-job experience. Mobile is a fascinating industry that moves at a blistering pace and being part of this is a great experience for anyone interested in working within a growth market.

      Cons

      No training nor appreciation of importance of personal development. Senior management makes erratic decisions that can jeopardise whole departmental plans and, in turn, product sales. Lack of long term planning and job security. Low pay scales compared to similar roles elsewhere.

      Some good people are still around.

      Cons

      the former CEO used 5yrs time destroyed 80% of this company. Every division in HTC is now dysfunctional. Current CEO and the management team in Taiwan are continuously destroying the rest 20% of the business in a very fast speed. There is no strategy, no process in place. Same mistakes happened over and over again. Massive redundancis is the only idea come out of top managers brain. It is such a shame that all the staff and shareholders can do nothing but watching their careers and hard-earned money being relentlessly ruined.

      No longer a great place to work

      Pros

      It used to be a place full of smart, motivated and committed people who worked hard to establish HTC amongst the leading manufacturers of smartphones.

      Cons

      The company offered individuals to grow and shape their own jobs to a degree, however the downside was increasing internal politics. The relationship between the regional head office in the UK and all the countries in EMEA also suffered due to frequent reorganisations and a general lack of strategy / direction.
