Pros

Everything that was a pro, ended up becoming not true.

Cons

They have admitted that they are the lowest paying Mortgage company in the industry. And I confirmed it with many other employers. They will claim that they are building something different but they are just a wanna be of the company that everyone came from in Downtown Detroit. They even pay less than them. Very toxic management styles and the owner always needs to be praised. They try manipulation for everything they do and that is the scariest part. They also change the system every 1-3 months, you cannot get a good rhythm. They also fire people for social media posts, do not pay you for your extra time worked and underpay females or people new to the industry. Go to the place in downtown. And way too many meetings.

Pros

The peers I worked with were fantastic. The people at this company truly make the day to day manageable. I've made great friends from working here and learned a lot about Small Business environment and what to do right and what NOT to do.

Cons

Very difficult to earn above 40k unless you are buddy buddy with David or Leadership. This is a lead by organization that is attempting to integrate personal referrals as well. The issue is that they offer no training to get people who have been succeeding in Lead Buy generated business into referral base. They boast that they do, but the support immediately drops when you question their methods. One of the main things that bothered me was the manipulation by David and some Senior leadership. One-on-One conversations left me feeling like I was really heard and understood (especially with David.) However, fast forward a week or even a few days and it became clear that any topics we discussed were twisted to benefit David/ Company's agenda. It seems to me that David has a large ego that needs to be fed by the image of this company's success rather than the success of the people. In my time here the company went from 30 employees- to 50 or more, now it is down to under 30. the compensation is not competitive if the majority of your business comes from referrals. Not even making 1% on a self generated lead. The tiers are unattainable to 99% of the people that worked here. hence why half the upper management split from the company about 6 months ago.

Pros

Free popcorn, standing desks, nice office. That's about it

Cons

Literally everything that could suck about working in mortgages sucks here. The comp plan is an absolute joke, the worst I've seen at any mortgage shop, don't let the salary they pay fool you. The comp plan is so bad that on smaller deals the intro bankers transferring the calls will actually make more than the broker. They probably pay like crap because they literally have more managers than they do brokers, half of which do absolutely nothing. The leads are old and stale. Their tech is so old and clunky that only a couple hand selected favorites are able to price loans... You can't even price a deal while you have a client on the line, absolute joke. They expect you to work every single Saturday.and until 6 or 7 every weeknight. The benefits are awful. Most expensive health benefits I've ever seen, over $1k a month for family plan, only 12 days PTO which they are very strict about. None of the grey area holidays like MLK day off. No 401k match They try to act like they are a cool fun place to work, "oh we're so cool we have a ping-pong table" but you will be threatened with termination if you play during your lunch break.
