Pros

We use their vans and they are good about allowing us to keep them maintained. A/C has to work for the clients, so we always have A/C.

Cons

Always on call, short notice of start times. Feels like a 70 hour work week. But only get paid for 20 to 30 hours.

Pros

There are not many, however it is good if you want to be basically on your own. Especially if you are good at figuring things out on your own. The top of this company is greedy and will tell you anything they think you might like to hear., but it will eventually be a lot of hot air.

Cons

The top of the company are greedy execs. None whom seem to know anything about what a driver does or what a rail crew needs. They will be losing business soon if they don't make changes very very quickly.

Stressful Job

Pros

At one point I use to get 55+ hours but since the beginning of 2019 I averaged no more than 20 hours a week maybe 30 if you're lucky.

Cons

1.) No life 2.) No Advancement opportunities 3.) No Raises 4.) Checks are sometimes late if you don't have direct deposit 5.) Very Very Low hours 6.) You're not guaranteed 40 hours 7.) They have a new policy where you give a crew a ride which is a couple of hours and then you have to clock out, go home and wait by the phone and repeat that until you max out on hours of service, and if you don't answer your phone you get written up. So basically your life is by the phone unless its your day off. 8.) Its a very very stressful job 9.) Always tired 10.) You cant back up or back up with crews on board unless you call and ask permission to do it and explain why you put yourself in that position. Its pathetic. I've been driving all my life and never had a problem backing up more so having to ask permission to back up, its one of the stupidest policies ever!! 11.) Did I mention No LIFE!! 12.) Don't work for Hallcon unless you want to live your life by the phone with a very low hourly rate, no raises ever! and no advancement opportunities. Its a messed up place to work for!
