Pros

The author and books that the company attract are high profile and exciting to be involved with. They will often be in the best seller charts which makes it satisfying to be involved with them

Cons

There is always a sense that your position is insecure. This runs from top to bottom of the company. This makes is hard to stay motivated as you worry that you might be out next week.

Pros

The publishing industry is a great field to be in and if you worked in any other HC office besides Glasgow it would probably be great.

Cons

The biggest ones for me are the fact that this company breaks employment law, they have so many temps in here that have been temps for four years plus and the company refuses to give them contracts, THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW. low wage, treated very very poorly if you're male in this female dominated workplace i.e. you'll never get promoted and you're disregarded as a human being due to your gender.

Pros

Friendly and informal. A genuinely nice atmosphere.

Cons

Poor management: lack of accountability, lack of rigour in terms of deadlines, lack of resource management and planning.
