Pros

Hassconsult just moved offices and their new space is unbelievably designed. It's almost as though it's out of a movie. When you walk into the office there's a great vibe with so much space!!!! Managers are really friendly to talk to when you're faced with a problem. I was having some personal difficulties that had nothing to do with work, and out of good will, one of the managers, Sakina Hassanali paid for me to go for a wellness course which was a really sweet thing to do even though it had nothing to do with work. Farhana Hassanali is a really good mentor when it comes to seeking professional advice on how to do things. It's a shame that the other reviews spoke so ill of the managers because they're really nice once you understand how they work. The managers are really supportive, and this is especially true to the staff who work hard and are committed to their job. There is a good chance of being promoted if you do your job well which is what happened to me and it was really rewarding. The work ethic is really good, as they are built on honestly. When clients want a refund on big deposits, their refunds are processed almost immediately, faster than a bank. I also went on a business lunch with Mr Hassanali and when the bill came, he noticed that the restaurant forgot to add a meal that we ate. Mr Hassanali requested for it to be added and when I asked why he didn't let it go, he said that it is not the right thing to do and he considered it stealing. The managers consistently emphasise how important it is to be honest. It's a really nice place to work because you're given loads of responsibilities. The Hassanali's are really smart and creative and being guided by them really helps me learn new things every day.

Cons

The contract is quite strict, and it could do with a bit of flexibility. For example your pay gets cut when you come in late but you have an allowance of 30 minutes in the month. If it's over, then your salary gets cut. To be fair we were also told before signing the contract that the work ethic at Hassconsult is quite strict and can be stressful due to the nature of the job - this applies to the family members as well as even when they come in late their salary gets cut. But maybe a bit more flexibility on the contract.

Pros

1. Good experience and exposure 2. Good stepping stone 3. Forced to maximize your knowledge

Cons

1. Micromanaged: Constantly being told what to do and opinions aren't considered. Pestering emails on when the work will be done, sometimes threatened with warning letters when you don't meet deadlines 2. Unrealistic expectations: You get pawned off an insane amount of work that isn't really required practically but still expected to deliver. 3. No work-life balance: You get salary deductions for being late more than 30mins, no personal phones allowed during working hours. At times, a leave-freeze is administered during certain periods of the year with no apparent reasons. 4. No employee benefits or morale 5. Extremely low pay 6. No overtime pay: you're expected to stay and work with Department Heads past 5pm and over event days with no exceptions to recovering from being overworked. 7. Very strict with number of hours worked over efficiency: Very suspicious if you're not seen 100% working, in the kitchen, catching up with colleagues or just taking a break. 8. No departmental systems in place 9. No HR: There's no safe place to relate your concerns, as there's no employee help systems. Family members create policies as and when they deem fit. 10. Lack of trust :Spot checks on phones and laptops, constantly monitored on CCTV 11. No opportunities for growth: there's only executives and managerial levels. There's no growth systems in place that determine a natural progression. Highest level positions are all taken by family members. 12. Lack of professionalism: No departmental communication is observed, work is given by word of mouth. You're not treated like a professional earning the job, rather like a student being given instructions.
