      Once a great company to work for

      Pros

      Working at Hassett was once an enjoyable experience. There was a great, positive attitude. The office was informal, casual, and relaxed. Most of the employees were great to work with.

      Cons

      When it became clear that our customer base was shrinking and we didn't have a sales force that actually knew how to sell to anyone but that base, things went downhill fast. There was a lot of talk about how great it was that we had such a loyal following but the truth was that no one else would want to handle most of this business. After multiple layoffs and a pay cut we went after several types of business we didn't understand and pretty much did a poor job. It became clear that the people in charge really didn't know how to successfully run the business and maybe never did.

      New Hassett = Old Hassett

      Pros

      After a big pay cut and about four years of no raises, we are supposed to finally get raises again! Of course, we have figured out that it would take about 5 years of raises to get us back to where we were back in the beginning of 2011!

      Cons

      There's a lot of talk about this being a new company, but the new ownership and leadership is the same as the old leadership we've had for a long, long time! Nothing has changed! The same narrow-mindedness on how to run this company also remains the same. They always talk about our big new plans but nothing new every really happens. We've held on to the same customer base forever because we don't know how to get anything else and nobody else wants these accounts! We wouldn't know how to bring on real new consistent business if we tried, and we certainly can't keep any. The time for big bold bright ideas was ten years ago when we still had a good reputation and the people to support it. Now its just a little sad.

      We would consider a solid customer base an excellent attribute to our organization. Customers have many choices and we're proud to have customers that stay with our company "forever". We have started new sales avenues to find more customers and let them know about Hassett Express and our team. We hope you'll see how our new plans are taking root and feel invigorated. We can only hope that our new customers will stay with us "forever" as well! Big, Bold, Bright Ideas move companies forward everyday, and we look forward to growing Hassett Express and taking those big steps together.

      Deceptive Work Practices

      Pros

      Local management very smart, honest. Tries to accommodate needs of employees while doing the best for the company and the customers. Everyone rallies around.

      Cons

      Local and corporate executives deceptive in what they offer new employees. Stubborn, rude, unprofessional, spiteful. You are asked to go above and beyond, but they do not want to pay you for it and get angry when you ask. You are treated no better than the servants. NO raises, next to nothing in the way of bonuses.

      Our local management teams continue to work hard to maintain schedules and flexibility for our employees. Mutual respect and honesty are foundations of our corporate culture and any issues brought to our attention would be investigated. Hassett Express deeply respects the efforts put forth by our drivers and employees as they are the face of our company with our customers. While the past few years have been difficult during the economic turn-down, we have developed new avenues to increase brand awareness and sales for our company. We do look forward to the future with our employees and will continue to reward excellent employees for their efforts.
