Pros

You get a few perks, free fruit, smelly fridge, modern office (but it’s too open plan really). Friendly colleagues, flexible hours. Onsite (expensive) canteen.

Cons

Too many managers, not having direction, not inspiring. Too many long-winded meetings. Internal communication pretty awful. Micro-managing can become tedious. No-one seems to have any idea what other departments are doing. Most managers have lost all sense of practicality.

Mis-sold Positions is the norm...

Pros

Flexible working Opt in private health insurance

Cons

No training, No progression, No salary reviews, Bad communication, Bad leadership. You are sold a job at a higher level during interview and offer stage but the reality is a much more junior role with no possibility of moving up. They want people who understand and have the ability to work at high level but want them to carry out only the junior 'hands on' work, regurgitating what the managers and LT want you top say/do

Pros

If you want a job where you’ll not be challenged and like to be told what to do and how to do it, this is the one for you. You’ll get paid a high salary to be a slave to the Finnish Leadership Team.

Cons

Most of the mid to senior jobs at Helvar are missold. I am part of a recruitment campaign of approx 10 staff, mainly sales who were promised the right support, training and opportunities to grow. However the LT (Leadership Team) who are all Finnish, will tell you what to do and how to act in meetings. You will have no power to think on your own. Other main issues are; - High Politically Charged Environment due to members of the LT who are “friendly” with the Owners of the company - Wide staff unhappiness due to interview processes showing a company they want to be rather than actually are - The Job description, role, benefits and sales area changed 3 times in last 12 months.
