Pros

Wow. I don't know of any pros to write about. Your pay check if you are paid on time and if you are paid the right amount. Others have had a wrong paycheck or a sale commission was missing. Stay away from this company. Even if you need a job for 3 months. I wouldn't recommend it since it is not worth working with teenagers. It feels like high school all over again and I was done with that 20 years ago.

Cons

Too many to list. The men act like teenagers. There is too much drama between supervisors, none of them are mature. Some managers and employees leave their soda cans and tea cans on the desks and you come in and see stuff from the other shift. No one cleans up after themselves and you are left thinking that a 12 year old works there. They have roaches that crawl all of the place on the floor near your feet. The managment SAY "do not leave food or soda at your desk" but nothing is done about it. No one is written up, no one is put on leave or fired. Management treats both customers and employees wrong, and not one supervisor is held accountable. The canvassing manager department says "don't say Solar at the door. You should say " Hi, I"m ___ from Horizon Power" and yet the telemarketers are told to say "Horizon Solar Power" on the phone. What? What kind of joke is that? Why would you tell your telemarketers to say Solar, they the canvassing manager say something different? Is Canvassing ashamed of Solar? Customers tells us more about solar and what Edison is planning on doing for anyone that desires to go solar - and on one from managment is informing the employees about this. The information goes only one way in this company. It only goes from manager to manager. It does not flow down from manager to employee. It does not flow from employee to manager. This is not the way to do any business. The spiffs are stupid candy or sunglasses. Or you may get a Horizon mug. The spiffs are for teenagers since teenagers do not have bills to pay and don't have kids to feed. They do not treat anyone like an adult.

Pros

Good company profile. Nice professional guys. Hate to see them get into trouble with consumers ie: HERO program purchases. The Management teams will not let you leave the sales call without a signature or a closing call offering all the specials and promos you need to close the deal on the spot.

Cons

With previous knowledge in how Photo-voltaic systems work, and getting hired on the spot by the especially charismatic Sales Director, I expected to rise to the top of this enthusiastic, sales driven organization. After putting in the time, (6 mos)and going thru only a 2-day training course, I was sent out on calls. I've got over 20 yrs. of direct sales experience, and yet ended up being totally unprepared for the technical questions of a well-informed engineer who questioned me, and would NOT let me call for answers and escorted me out of his home-- Bruttle! The schedules came in late the night before, so it made it tough and disappointing to rush to get to unconfirmed calls over 2 hrs. away were people didn't agree to a visit. Lastly, my devoted clients were getting shook-down for leads when self-gen bonuses were in place. The referral program comes out of YOUR own commission in many cases. The Senior reps get all the local, and primed leads then get glorified in sales meetings. UNFORTUNATELY, I burned out physically and ran out of money after devoting much effort and success with relationship building.
