Pros

This is a company that doesn't fall under the restrictions that the economy burdens our industry with, but collectively works to break barriers and create top-performing products within those restrictions time and time again. This is a company that invests in itself and people. They have a very flexible sick leave policy, and I do recommend working here.

Cons

Some people abuse the flexibility the company gives you, and some coworkers fail to improve on their own faults, causing more work for others.

Good place to work overall

Pros

It’s a family owned TV station, so ownership is more personally invested in employees The benefits are pretty decent for a journalism job and pay is comparable to competitors in the market If you are good at your job, there is upward mobility in your career There are opportunities for additional career development to sharpen and improve your skills

Cons

Institutionally, the newsroom can be slow at adapting to new trends or methods in news gathering Like many journalism jobs, the hours can sometimes be long, and work/life balance can be a challenge Raises don’t always keep up with cost of living increases
