Pros
Interpreting can be a very rewarding profession, as you get to help people directly.
Cons
Worst company to work at, ever. Management is incompetent at best, malicious at worst. They will hire any warm body that still breathes as an interpreter without checking on ability. I was promised a "qualifying assessment" of language abilities; never received one, yet they still sent me on regular assignments. If you need to be paid on a regular basis (what a concept!), this is NOT the company for you. They have NO pay schedule, you read that right. They pay whenever it is convenient for them, and if you ask for or demand a pay schedule they will keep you waiting for your paycheck for weeks with no explanation or apology. The manager there is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. She will try to make you feel like she's doing you a favor by meeting with you after you spend days trying to pin her down for an appointment. Run, don't walk, away!
