Good place to start a career in sustainable finance with a high work load
Pros
A great working atmosphere with supportive colleagues and a relatively flat organization where you can feel free to speak up and propose new ideas because everyone fundamentally agrees on the same values and principles.
Cons
Very demanding workload as it is a fast-growing start-up company with a constrained budget. Performance evaluations and compensation schemes are still in their infancy and could be more fair and reflective of the employee's actual work. Upper management tries their best to be fair, inclusive and attentive but this is not always the case given the heavy workload which leaves very little time to do what the company aspires to do. Despite being a company that promises to be transparent, there is still some confusion around certain people's roles and how their decision-making affects the general staff. Also, this is not a place to work if you do not understand French. Once you are in, you need to be on board with a very heavy French culture. Even though the product is in English you must have a basic understanding and conversational skills in French. Upper management is not doing much at the moment to be more inclusive towards non-french speakers/ historic anglophones or non-historic anglophones who are in fact very needed at the company to ensure more long-term success. Overall not recommended if you are looking for something long-term and stable, but rather a temporary place to kick off a career in sustainable finance.
