Some parts of company not so great to work for

Pros

Extremely nice coworkers. You really feel like everyone cares about each other and usually everyone is always ready to lend a hand or offer assistance. Great benefits. Awesome CEO! Most of senior management is awesome. If you get employment in the right department - you'll love it!

Cons

There are some departments that are awful to work in. Management does not understand how high performing teams work. They view any difference of opinion as conflict and impose a forced harmony that is detrimental to team trust. Some managers in one department are ego driven and sometimes flat out dishonest. Management routinely contradicts each other putting employees in a very unpleasant & difficult position. There are a couple managers who actively harass employees about made up stuff. They also cannot keep confidential info confidential - and actively talk behind people's backs - destroying trust and teamwork and trying to pit employee against employee. Because Management cannot define roles properly, whatever conflict exists between employees is a direct result of management incompetence in not defining an effective process or appropriately defining roles. Some managers tell you to handle something one way, and then when you're criticized by another manager, your manager does not stick up for you. They routinely throw you under the bus. Management is sometimes indifferent to workload and work-family balance. Among the rank & file in this department, it is universally recognized that the problem is management. There is enormous turnover in this department. 5 people have left this department in 4 months. Interestingly all of these were woman. Not sure if this is just a coincidence. Mostly men are all that is left.
