Great teams, poor management

Pros

- The teams in hubs are brilliant - talented, hard working and great people. - Central support teams e.g. Crop Science, Capacity Planners are also lovely and really helpful. - Exciting area to work in and nice to be doing hands-on, practical work.

Cons

- Upper management are getting close to ruining the whole company - it seems like an exclusive club at the top that are just trying to look after themselves. They make questionable strategy decisions and then blame failure on external causes. - No accountability for poor behaviour/performance of the senior management team. - Multiple rounds of redundancies and now the company is lacking resources in many areas.

Pros

- I like that Infarm is a company with a big vision to look after the planet by trying alternative methods of food production! This is a great company for people who are passionate about vertical farming and who want to achieve big things. - There are employee resource groups at Infarm for various topics where people can come together with like-minded colleagues (e.g. sustainability, wellbeing, lgbtq+ etc.). -Infarm makes an effort to acknowledge crises in the world and supports their employees and also makes efforts to acknowledge mental health days, international women days, encourages gender-neutral communications etc. - The teams have achieved phenomenal things together in terms of growth and expansion during the time I've worked here. - People department was helpful when there were issues with management and helped resolve the situation.

Cons

- Has a tendency to overwork people (especially in leadership positions) who work even during their holidays and very late hours. - There is a lot of changing priorities at Infarm and I've often experienced that nobody at a leadership wants to take responsibility for that and provide guidance in terms of how de-prioritised projects should be handled. - There is little investment in people topics. During the time I've been working at Infarm there has been no performance management system that allows employees to set goals and review their performance regularly. - Often times managers are completely overwhelmed and don't have the bandwidth to fully look after their employees, so it can feel like everyone is left to their own devices, which can work for some but not for others.
